baby session: charlie at 8 mos.

this was just a really fun recent photo session in new jersey. it was also a perfect day to do some outdoor shots. i had photographed charlie when he was a newborn during the winter season so it was great seeing him again after 8 months. (click HERE to see his newborn session) babies between 6 to 8 months are just great to photograph since they are just so adorable at this age and they are just mostly happy too. charlie is just the most adorable baby boy! it was so easy to make him smile or laugh ...thanks to his mom and dad who were tirelessly trying to make him smile for the camera. :-)

anyways, when i photographed charlie when he was a newborn at his home, i had noticed this really cute police car! so i asked his mom if they still had it and if we could use it for the photo shoot. i was so glad that they still had it. :-) so we used the little car and took some shots at a garden center close by. it was perfect timing too since the center had just started decorating for the fall and had some pumpkins ready for picking. so of course we had to take some photos of charlie with pumpkins as well. after that, we headed back to their home and took more outdoor and indoor shots. we had a really fun time too once we placed charlie on the cup. we weren't sure if he was still in the mood since it was already close to his nap time. once he was in the cup, he just really had fun. he just enjoyed being able to touch and play with his little feet. it was just too cute to describe! :-)

i'd like to thank charlie and his parents again for a great session. it was really nice seeing all of you again. i hope you like the photos on this sneak preview. more to come soon!

lots of love...

portraits of a musician - new york

a friend has been trying to schedule this photo shoot for months and i am really glad that we finally did it right before the end of summer. i had already actually taken some photos of him a few years ago when i just had recently met him and when we were both just starting to further explore our hobbies, me in photography and him with his singing and his 12-string guitar. click HERE to see the first photo shoot i did for him a few years ago.

anyways, the location was his choice which was really cool and appropriate for the shoot. it's the famous & historical Hotel Chelsea in manhattan NY.

"the hotel has always been a center of artistic and bohemian activity and it houses artwork created by many of the artists who have visited."

we had met after work and right away started shooting before the sun went down. the exterior of the hotel was just rich in architecture and details that we were just all over the place to the point that the hotel manager had to ask us how much longer we would take. if we had more time, i probably would have tried to take a few shots inside the hotel but we weren't sure if they would allow it since they were conducting tours.

i really had fun doing this shoot since it brings out more of my artistic side and anything in new york just makes it more exciting. i would love to do more of this kind of shoots for artists or musicians. ...calling artists and musicians out there! :-)

anyways, i'd like to thank Brendan again for choosing me to take his portraits. i wish you all the best in your musical career and don't forget me when you're rich & famous! :-)

children's birthday party - manhattan NY

just recently, i was hired to photograph and document a 2 year old's birthday party in the upper east side of manhattan NY. i wanted to post some photos as a sneak peek for the family and their guests, like i usually do for portrait sessions.

the party was fun and went so fast since the activities for the kids came one after the other. it was so hectic for me! it was like when i documented a wedding, i just needed to be everywhere and really quick mostly to catch the little ones. i also loved the venue! it was a colorful indoor gym for kids which made the photos more alive. here are a few photos that i took during the event. i hope they will like the photos. happy birthday again peter! :-)

family session: the hoolihans in central park NY

a few weeks ago, i had a special family photo session in central park NY. my cousin from Minnesota was visiting family in NY and requested me to take photos of their family. of course i was happy to do it! :-) it was really nice to see them again since i don't get to see them that often. a few years ago, i was part of their wedding in Minn. and now they have 2 cute kids... time flies!

anyways, it was a great day for a photo session. i met them at the park in the afternoon on a weekday after work. we had a really fun session. imagine me running around after a 1 & 2 year old boy in central park and trying to get their attention. that became my workout for the day. :-) thanks also to my cousin and her hubby for assisting me and trying to get their attention, asking them to smile and look at my camera. it took some tickling too just to make them laugh or smile as you might notice on the photos. it was specially tough for the older boy who didn't even want to look at me, tried to avoid me or covered his face with his teddy! it was really challenging and tough but was also fun at the same time. despite all that, i think we were lucky to get some great photos. :-)

to dimples & brian, and their 2 boys, brendon & colin... thanks for a great session! it was nice seeing all of you again. i hope to see you again soon. hope you like these photos :-)

lots of love...xoxo

that's me trying to get a souvenir photo with the 2 tired boys :-)
