child session: martin in manhattan

i had a really fun 5 year old photo session in New York on saturday of last weekend, back to back with another photo session in LI, NY on sunday (which will be my next blog post). this was a great way to start the summer season also since it was held in manhattan on the 1st day of summer. the weather was perfect too. if you check out the my blog post before this, he was the little boy who took my photos. :-) his name is martin.

he is a very active boy so i decided to hold his session in their neighborhood playground. his mom, who i went to high school with, also suggested their rooftop! of course i said that would be perfect! :-) so along with 3 of his friends who were siblings (since his mom was ambushed for a few minutes of baby-sitting) we first took photos at the rooftop of the building they live in. it had a great view of the Hudson river and other buildings in Manhattan. can you imagine how crazy it was with 3 other kids around going crazy and getting impatient as the session went on? :-)

we then had lunch since martin was getting moody which his mom said was a sign that he needed to eat. i want to thank the family again for treating me to a great dimsum lunch. :-)
so after lunch, martin was back to his jolly, active mood. on the way to the playground, i took more city shots along the streets. by the time we got to the playground, martin was in his element as if he owned the playground. :-) i just followed him and asked him to show me some stuff and we ended the session with some water shots. it was a fun experience even if it meant running after a hyperactive 5 year old kid wherever he wanted to go.

to martin, thanks again for all the great smiles and poses!
to his mom and dad, thanks for a great session!

i hope you will like the photos. :-)

lots of love...

...from a 5 year old's eye view

i just wanted to share some photos from last weekend that a 5 year old kid took of me in manhattan, NY. his name is Martin. i had a photo session for him since he just turned 5. i thought these photos were great and so real and to see what a kid sees is amazing. :-)

i had asked him to go down the steps and run back so i could take photos of him but he wanted to do it too and take pictures of me first. :-) so i let him... i placed the camera strap around his neck while his mom was beside him... then i taught him how to use the camera... then click...click...click... these were the shots that he took of me :-)

and here's a photo i took of the little photographer... meet Martin.
(my feet and flip-flops on the background :-) )

newborn session: baby girl

last weekend, i had the wonderful opportunity to shoot another newborn session. the beautiful baby girl was 6 weeks during the time of the session. i would just like to take this opportunity to thank the family for a beautiful photo session and for welcoming me into their home. it was also a fun session since mom and dad were hands-on and excited during the session. i'd also like to thank Deborah for purchasing the photo session gift card (for the baby shower) and giving it as gift to the family. i will not be able to post my standard sneak peek of their session on my blog and would like to respect the family's request due to personal family reasons.

again.. to the mom & dad, thank you again for the wonderful experience. i hope you had fun during the photo session. congratulations on your beautiful baby girl. the photos are great and i can't wait to share them all to you soon. i hope you will love the photos.

lots of love...

amber turns 1! - photo session

my adorable goddaughter, Amber, is now a year old.. and now standing on her own! :-) time flies! just a few months ago, we had photo sessions for her every 3 months. since i don't have kids myself, it was amazing to see how babies could grow in just a few months. see her growth and progress below during those photo sessions.

i'd like to thank her mom and dad for giving me this wonderful opportunity to document her 1st year. i think this will be the best gift i can give to my goddaughter and i hope she will appreciate these when she's old enough. :-)

here's a photo i took of her at the hospital when she was born :-)

i took this adorable photo during a picnic in the park after her baptism when she was in about 5 months :-)

...and here are more photos during her 1 year session on a lovely spring afternoon last memorial weekend :-) the photo session was held in my favorite place, Central Park in Manhattan NYC. i loved her colorful outfit that her mom brought! she is so adorable and is such a happy, playful kid. she just loved being in that bucket that i brought which explains why there are a lot of photos of her in the bucket. i was so glad that i decided to bring it for the session :-)

she now can not only stand on her own but sit and balance on her own as well:

now this is my favorite shot of the session!...
she was too excited to be in the bucket that she was screaming and holding on tight :-)

luv ya amber...
