newborn session: baby maya

as i had mentioned in one of my previous blogs, i had another special photo session during the week of thanksgiving. the photo session was for my little niece, maya, who was born just before thanksgiving. click HERE for pictures of her at the hospital on the day she was born. she is the first baby daughter of my cousin and his lovely wife. because of the hectic holidays and the unfortunate accident i got into, i've been running late on posting and other photography work. i wanted to post this on my blog before the year ends. time flies fast, i can't believe the year is ending!

anyways, it was a gloomy and rainy day but we had to do this session just when maya was 8 days old. the 1st week is the best time for newborn photos. i think everything went well despite not having so much natural light for the session. we were stuck with one spot in the baby room by the window where there was light coming in the most. we had a fun session despite maya not being in the mood on that day. she didn't want to be in the buff so we tried to make the most of it while she was not in the mood. daddy jamil was shooting in the background too testing his new digital slr camera. i gave him a short photography lesson on the side too. mommy pia's mom was around so we took some grandma-grandaughter shots as well.

to jamil, pia, baby maya & tita annie, thanks again for a wonderful experience & session. thanks again too for the great token which i really can use. now i have more storage for all the large file photos :-)
i think maya had a blast too by getting back at me for making her tired. she thew up with milk all over me when i carried her for a souvenir photo. :-)

happy holidays!

i just wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a happy holiday. i hope most of you are enjoying the holidays despite this economic crisis. unfortunately, i got into a bad accident on the day of christmas eve celebration and i am still recuperating & healing at home. i am just thankful that i was still able to celebrate christmas with my big family.

anyways... i hope all of you enjoy the rest of the holidays. take care during this winter season, watch your step and specially watch out for thin ice!

baby session: lana at 8 months

i had two special photo sessions during thanksgiving weekend and one of them was for a good friend of mine. i had not seen her for over a year since she lives about two hours away from manhattan so i was really glad to see her & her husband again & their adorable baby girl, lana. they were in the city for the holidays so she wanted to take this opportunity to have the photo session. it was a good time too for us to get together & catch up. the session was held at her in-laws home in the east side of manhattan, ny. we tried to take most of the photos indoors because of the winter weather but we also wanted to have some outdoor shots. the weather that day was cold but not too cold so luckily, we were also able to get some outdoor shots in the building courtyard.

lana was in her best mood when i arrived so i was lucky to take some photos of her in her very happy & excited mood. she was so adorable.. such a happy baby! i couldn't stop adoring her :-) thanks to her mom, dad & grandma for making her smile & be excited for the camera. i think she was so hyper that she got so tired. we then had to take a nap break. she was then ready for the outdoor shots once she woke up.

to my friend Gayle, her husband Bill & baby Lana... thanks again for a great photo session. thanks for your patience & choosing me to photograph your beautiful family. it was nice seeing all of you during the holiday weekend. i hope you like the photos in this sneak preview & more to come soon.

wedding in manhattan ny: carla & mike

my schedule at work has just been so crazy during the last few months so now i'm trying to catch up on some photography work & postings on my blog before the year ends. two months ago last october, i had the privilege of assisting a photographer-friend to shoot her friend's wedding. it was held in my manhattan, NY though my friend & the couple are actually based in the philippines. i was basically her shadow to take some extra shots for the wedding day during the church ceremony & some parts of the reception. it was a simple yet lovely & sweet wedding. congratulations & best wishes again to the lovely couple, Carly & Mike. hope all's well.
