baby session: audrey at 10 months

this recent session was held in central park in manhattan, ny. the session was for this adorable baby girl, audrey, who was 10 months at the time of the session and was a gift to the family in advance for audrey's 1-year birthday. :-)

after the rain and bad weather the weekend before, we had to re-schedule to the next weekend which turned out to be such a beautiful day at the park. the weather was just perfect, not too cold, specially for the little one. although we were lucky with the weather, the family had an unfortunate situation so we had to wait for the dad for some time 'til it started to get dark. he almost didn't make it but i just tried to make it work out even though it was kinda dark already so i could at least get some family pics.

anyways, while waiting for dad, i started to take photos of baby audrey by the sidewalk. as soon as i placed her in the red pail, people started flocking while i was taking photos of her. she loved the attention so much that she started to enjoy being in the pail as did everyone else who was around her. she was just too cute! :-) in the end, i was still able to get some adorable photos of audrey.

to audrey and her parents, thank you again for the fun photo session! after all that happened, i hope you and your families will like these photos and the rest to come. :-)

lots of love...

e-session: kristin & eric

this recent special fall session was held in a cool castle in new jersey. the session was a gift from the mom of the fiance-the guy, to the engaged couple. they will wed next year during the fall season which makes it appropriate for the fall engagement photo shoot.

the session was supposed to be held a week before but got postponed due to bad weather. i have been really anxious during the past weekends because of the rain weather that has been falling on the weekends. on the day of the re-scheduled session, the weather was not what we were hoping for. it was cloudy but it still worked for the photo shoot and we were lucky to have no rain this time.

i was really excited for this photo shoot since i love fall engagement photo shoots. i have never had a shoot in a castle as well which made it more fun. the place was great and we were lucky to still have some fall foliage as a background.

to the lovely couple, kristin and eric ...thank you for your patience and for choosing such a great location. congratulations again on your engagement and best wishes.
to the mom, maureen ...thank you for choosing me to photograph & document their engagement. thank you again for having confidence in me. i am very grateful and also happy to have a part in a wonderful milestone in your lives.

i hope all of you will like this sneak peek and the rest of the photos to come.

lots of love...

family session in central park

it was a gorgeous morning in central park, new york for a photo shoot. the sunny weather combined with the lovely fall foliage at its peak was just almost perfect on that day. this recent session was for a lovely family of four with their 2 cute little girls ... gabrielle at 34 months and baby arielle at 6 months. the family had also found me through my facebook page (click HERE... http://www.facebook.com/melaniedphotography)
i had to postpone their session the weekend before because of bad weather so we were so glad that the weather turned out to be much better that day. the weather was a little bit cold for the little ones but it wasn't too bad that they were able to take off their sweaters after a few hours.

everything was almost perfect but i have to admit that this was the toughest photo shoot i have done so far. their two little girls were not in their best mood that morning so we just tried to make the best out of it. i also would have extended the session but unfortunately, they already had something planned right after the session. little gabrielle would not even look at my camera and would always turn away even after i had gained her friendship & played around with her a couple of times. her mom even said... "i don't even know how you could do this". :-) my answer is ...i love kids and i am just really passionate about my work that i just try to do my best even if it means running, jumping around with the kids and making silly sounds and faces. :-)

with all that said, i think i was still lucky to be able to capture some nice shots. their mom had mentioned during the session that they will probably have another photo session when the kids are a little bit older.

to gabrielle, arielle and her parents... thank you for choosing me to photograph your family and capture a wonderful milestone in your lives. it was nice meeting your lovely family and i hope to see you again in the future. i hope you like these photos and the rest to come.

lots of love...
