family summer portraits

last weekend, my sister had a housewarming/engagement party with our big family at her new home. it was really nice & fun since i haven't seen most of my family in a long time.
my cousin's wife requested for some photos of my 2yr old goddaughter and their family so i thought of taking photos too of the rest of the family who also wanted some photos. it had been raining the few days before and luckily, it turned out to be a great sunny day for a BBQ and some photos. :-) of course i took advantage of the sunny weather and took a few photos at the backyard. here are some of the photos that i took and will be posting more in a series of blogposts...

4th of july in NYC

just wanted to share a few photos of the biggest fireworks show in the U.S. that i took on the 4th of july. it was a perfect day, finally without rain. we had a great night of dinner and fireworks along the hudson river.

this year, macy's pyrotechnic extravaganza returned to the hudson river and lighted up the NY skyline with over 120,000 fireworks from around the world ...in celebration of america's 233rd and the 400th anniversary of henry hudson's historic voyage on the river that bears his name today.

newborn-family session: daniel at 2 weeks

a few weeks ago, we had this fun photo session for my cousin's newborn baby boy. his name is daniel steven hunter. he was named hunter from the 'hunter green' color since his dad's name is verde, which also means green. (this explains the 1st photo above) their little 1 year old daughter is also named caroline jade (jade green) :-) i also took some photos of her when she was 5 months old. remember the adorable little baby in the big striped cup and guitar? :-) click HERE to view. if you happen to notice, we used my cousin's guitar case again for this session. :-)

also, would you believe that my cousin's siblings have also colors as names? i am not kidding around :-)

anyways, so much for the history of names. :-) the photo session was held at their beautiful home in new york. it was an overcast weather on that day and had been raining a few days before so i had to make the most of whatever natural light was available. we had to use some artificial light too but i think the photos still turned out great. we were also lucky to get some sun a few hours after which gave us the opportunity to take some outdoor shots at their backyard.

baby daniel was great during the photo session. he hardly cried, as most newborns do, which made it so easy for me. he was one of the easiest newborns i took photos of. it was a little bit more difficult trying to get the attention of his little sister which is typical of 1 year olds. :-)

to my cousin, his wife alison and the little ones... thanks again for welcoming us into your home. thanks again too for the great lunch and the wonderful bag of goodies for my new home :-) see you all soon!

happy 4th of july!

just wanted to write a quick note and greet everybody a happy 4th!

attached are some photos that i took during a fireworks show that they had a few days ago in my new neighborhood. we thought of dropping by at the last minute and still managed to get a private view from one of the streets close by instead of joining the crowds in the neighborhood school baseball field. :-)

june update

hello there!

so much has been going on lately that i haven't had time to post so much on my blog. i just wanted to give an update just to get things running on my blog.
the past few weeks have been crazy with things happening one after the other. first all, JUNE is my birthday month and had celebrated my birthday a few weeks ago! yes ...another year older and perhaps another year wiser :-) had a great birthday weekend in atlantic city with the people who matter most and care about me the most. you know who you are ...so thanks again for a great birthday weekend that you guys had planned for me :-) i'd also like to say thanks again to all who took a minute to greet me too during my birthday week.

aside from a lot of personal and work related stuff that have been keeping me busy, one important thing that had kept me for crazy busy for many weeks was that i had just moved!

it took me several weeks to pack and still have a lot of unpacking to do which sucks 'coz i hate packing. :-) anyways, i am sadly missing my NYC skyline view from weehawken where i used to live (hudson county in NJ) since i moved further west in this nice neighborhood in essex county NJ. so now, i am more easily & centrally accessible in NJ but still also only a few minutes away from NYC. im in a great location for current and future photography clients in NY & NJ. and for those who may in the essex county area and may be interested in a photo session, i am very close and within walking distance to a really nice park that i can recommend for a great photo session. :-) i still do love central park in NY for photo sessions but i do really recommend this park too for those who live in NJ and would like an outdoor-park photo session. i call this park my mini central park in NJ :-)
