fall in central park

i just wanted to share these photos... fall in Central Park is just my absolute favorite! it has always been a must for me to go to central park during the fall season. i just never get tired of it. :-)

i took these photos last weekend after a morning photo shoot. i just had to take time to walk around at the park since it was just a gorgeous day to be there. a great sunny day and lovely fall foliage just made my day.

i just wish that the weekend weather would always be like this since i keep postponing my photo shoots like i had to do again today.

newborn session: giovanni at 3 weeks

this recent photo session was for baby giovanni who was 3 weeks old at the time of the session. the session was held at their home in new jersey. it was really cool that his parents found my work in facebook and got in touch with me just after their baby was born. (click here to see my facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/melaniedphotography) luckily, i was able to work out my schedule and make time for them before the baby got bigger since babies grow so fast in their first month.

it was a great day to have the session. it wasn't too cold and there was no rain that we were also able to get a few outdoor shots. baby giovanni was one of the best babies i had photographed. he was well behaved that we didn't have to have too many feeding or relaxation breaks. his parents mentioned that i was lucky too since he was not cranky at that time.
of course the family photo wouldn't be complete without their family dog! he was so amusing in his Superman costume which matched giovanni's. check out their family photo below! :-)

toddler session: audrey at 1 year

this recent photo session was held in NJ. the adorable little girl, audrey, is the daughter of a good friend of mine and whom i had already photographed before when she was a newborn (click HERE to see) and when she was still in her mom's belly :-) (click HERE-maternity session). this shoot was supposed to be a baby shower gift for a 6-month session from me and two other friends but got postponed several times because of the weather. my friend and her husband then decided to just do a 1-year photo session.

it was a perfect day to do an early autumn session, cloudy with some sun at times. the session was held in their new home and at a nearby park. audrey was serious and quiet most of the time so her mom and dad tried their best to make her smile for the camera. at the end, we were able to get some really cute shots of her giving out her best smile. :-)

to nancy, david and little audrey... thanks for a great photo session! it was nice to finally have seen your new home. thank you too for the lunch and nice conversations after. :-) hope you like the photos!

e-session: my sister & her fiance!

as i had previously announced before on my blog, my sister got engaged!!! this post has been long overdue! sorry sis and dave! i have just been really busy lately at work, with photography clients/work and my weekends have also been filled up assisting my sister in taking care of stuff for her planned wedding next year since i am also her maid of honor! :-) in fact, we went wedding dress shopping last weekend and she finally found "the dress"...really fun!

anyways, their photo shoot was held on labor day weekend on the jersey shore. this was my engagement gift to them ...lucky them! :-) initially, we had thought of a fall season shoot since the fall foliage is just so pretty for photos. but then, they were deciding on a beach destination wedding so i had suggested a beach photo shoot instead. it would also be perfect for their wedding website and other wedding related stuff. anyways, it was perfect timing to have a shoot on the beach before it got too cold and wouldn't be too crowded anymore.

we had planned to stay and relax at the beach on the day of the photo session. but then, it wasn't too warm & sunny enough to relax on the beach but it came out to be a perfect day for a photo shoot ...no rain & cloudy. i had instead, scheduled the shoot right before sunset which was great for the photos. the day before, i became their stylist too since i had helped them choose what to wear for the shoot . :-)

it was windy for most of the time we were there but it helped add some drama on the photos which i really liked. we had to do a bunch of re-takes since my sister's hair was flying all over and there were times that sand would get into their eyes. despite all that, i am so happy with how the photos turned out! there's just so much to choose from that it took me time to decide on which ones to post on my blog. i will probably just do a slideshow when i hopefully find time. :-)

anyways, to my only sister and her fiance, dave ...congratulations again! i hope the two-hour long photo shoot was all worth it and hope you like the photos so far. i can't wait for the wedding!
