children's birthday party - manhattan NY

just recently, i was hired to photograph and document a 2 year old's birthday party in the upper east side of manhattan NY. i wanted to post some photos as a sneak peek for the family and their guests, like i usually do for portrait sessions.

the party was fun and went so fast since the activities for the kids came one after the other. it was so hectic for me! it was like when i documented a wedding, i just needed to be everywhere and really quick mostly to catch the little ones. i also loved the venue! it was a colorful indoor gym for kids which made the photos more alive. here are a few photos that i took during the event. i hope they will like the photos. happy birthday again peter! :-)

family session: the hoolihans in central park NY

a few weeks ago, i had a special family photo session in central park NY. my cousin from Minnesota was visiting family in NY and requested me to take photos of their family. of course i was happy to do it! :-) it was really nice to see them again since i don't get to see them that often. a few years ago, i was part of their wedding in Minn. and now they have 2 cute kids... time flies!

anyways, it was a great day for a photo session. i met them at the park in the afternoon on a weekday after work. we had a really fun session. imagine me running around after a 1 & 2 year old boy in central park and trying to get their attention. that became my workout for the day. :-) thanks also to my cousin and her hubby for assisting me and trying to get their attention, asking them to smile and look at my camera. it took some tickling too just to make them laugh or smile as you might notice on the photos. it was specially tough for the older boy who didn't even want to look at me, tried to avoid me or covered his face with his teddy! it was really challenging and tough but was also fun at the same time. despite all that, i think we were lucky to get some great photos. :-)

to dimples & brian, and their 2 boys, brendon & colin... thanks for a great session! it was nice seeing all of you again. i hope to see you again soon. hope you like these photos :-)

my goddaughter is now 2 years old!

hi there! i am kinda late in posting but i just wanted to share more photos from my sister's party a few months ago. my cousin's wife requested for more photos of my adorable goddaughter which i was so glad to do. it is her black and white newborn photo that you will see on the first page of my website and my business cards as well. :-) she was also my first newborn photo shoot which makes it more special. :-) we also did a couple more photo shoots after that before she turned a year old. the summer weather was really hot and humid on that day but was perfect for some summer photos. i eventually also took photos of the rest of my family and their families which you will see below in my previous blog posts.

so we started taking photos of amber first. she started off with a good mood but then after a little accident, she got moody which made it difficult for us to take more photos of her. she just got so moody that she didn't even want her mom to be in a photo with her and her daddy as you will see in the photo below. :-) anyways, good or bad mood, she was still adorable and i was glad i was able to take photos of her in different moods as you will see in some photos below. her mommy is pregnant too so i took some solo shots of her too. :-) congratulations again aya! and hope all's well with the growing baby in your belly :-)

baby maya at 8 months

hello! i just wanted to do a quick post before the summer ends soon (!) and share the rest of the photos that i took from my sister's summer party at her new home. the little one on this set is my cousin's adorable daughter, maya, who was around 8 months old during that time we took these photos. i also took some photos of her when she was a tiny newborn. click HERE to see her newborn session photos. time flies!

we were supposed to schedule a 6 month photo session but there was just too much going on. it was great that we finally were able to take a few shots during the party before she turned a year old! it was cute that some of her teeth were already growing as you can see from the photos. :-) it's always great to have photo sessions when babies are 6 to 8 months old. they are usually just so easy going and happy. :-) this is the cutest stage of a baby before he or she starts walking and become little boys or girls.

sweet sixteen for simone

hi there! i just wanted to share some photos that i took of my cousin's daughter during my sister's housewarming-engagement party at her home a few weekends ago. these photos were taken at the backyard of my sister's home. my cousin, her dad, requested to take a few more photos of her during the party since she is turning 16 in a few months. i tried to take a mix of photos for her, some to bring out her inner child and some to bring out the young lady in her. she also plays the guitar so i took some with that too. :-)
